Elysia Xia is a Chinese-Canadian composer, multi-instrumentalist, and sound designer working across film and games. Her music blends intimate acoustic textures with hybrid orchestral and ambient elements, with a focus on emotional storytelling and subtle detail.

She is currently a double major in Film & Game Scoring at Berklee College of Music, where she has worked on various short films and video game projects. Through these experiences, she has developed a strong interest in how music interacts with story, especially in visual media.

She started as a multi-instrumentalist, and that still shapes how she writes. Her process is very hands-on and instinctive, often starting from sound, texture, or a feeling rather than a fixed structure. That approach gives her music a more personal and expressive quality.

With a background in cinematography, she is especially drawn to how stories can be told without words. She thinks about pacing, framing, and atmosphere when composing, and focuses on how music can support the emotional flow of a scene in a way that feels natural and intentional.

She is inspired by animation and Japanese film and game music, and is interested in creating immersive experiences that connect emotionally with audiences. She tends to gravitate toward quieter moments where music carries more of the story.

Alongside her work for media, she releases personal music under the name Elysia, where she explores a more delicate and introspective side of her artistry. She also shares her work through content creation, including promoting sound libraries while incorporating her own musical voice, and posting original music as a way to connect and express herself more directly.

Across everything she creates, her focus is on making music that feels honest, emotionally grounded, and lasting.
